ssl problems in ubuntu 9.04

i have been reading other posts on different sites about how to enable ssl on ubuntu server 9.04,well i have attemted this many times that is why my site was down for a while.
and i have had users report that it wasn't secure as my feedback,does anyone know the real way to make a page https?

I think i will just install ubuntu 8.04 server instead
