is there an alternative to WDM that is NOT KDM or GDM? and if not, is it a possibility that i could change the look and style of WDM? how would i do that?

umm.... xdm?
edit: for xdm try http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue43/nielsen.xdm.html http://www.google.com/search?q=xdm http://www.google.com/search?hs=0zL&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=xdm+customize&btnG=Search
I don't see why you can't change wdm..
but, according to http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2004/09/msg01333.html you can't...

i like wdm better than gdm. i've never been able to get xdm to work at all. haven't really spent that much time on any of them.
