Got a 10V for $99 bucks here only had to buy my son a xps studio laptop to get that price so probably not a good economic decision.

What's fleabay? Is it like Ebay? What's the web adress? How much RAM does the dell mini 9 have? How much HDD space? Can it be upgraded at all? Does it have ubuntu on it?
EDIT: Everyone says I am too inquisitive...
-But that's nonsense, right? :):)

Well this is just my story....

I got an old Dell Optiplex GX260 from a business that was getting rid of its old computers. They sold one to me for $30 (No OS installed). It is a Pentium 4 2.4GHz machine and came preloaded with 256MB of RAM.

I got an extra 1GB of RAM off Newegg.com, and a Nvidia GeForce 6200 card for around $70, which makes it total about $100 for a fully functioning Ubuntu computer.

And yes...it is quite fast.

So, if you know any business who is getting rid of old PCs, you might want to give it a try because they are generally really cheap if you buy from them. Now its not new....but I haven't seen ANY computer under $200 unless you get it refurbished or used.

You could probably get the same off Ebay or a website like Joysystems.com where they sell cheap refurbished desktops.

Does this answer your question?

NinjaNumberNine, your price point is a bit of a challenge, but I have bought refurbished computers from this company with good results.

They even have laptops that meet your $199 price point. They sell Dell, IBM, Lenovo ans well as ACER Aspire One Netbooks. Good hunting.

I bought a refurbished Dell Mini 9 from the Dell Outlet for just over $200. 1 gb ram, 8 gb drive, and Ubuntu pre-installed.

$199 is crazy cheap for a new computer...

Yes, thanks for the comprehensive answer. Unfortunately, I have been scammed on Ebay before... As for JoySystems, I could not find any computers for sale on their site. Maybe the SilverLight app in their refurb link? (I don't want to get Silverlight) If you do find a good deal that you don't need yourself, I would be glad if you could PM me about it. I don't have that much time for online shopping. :-k That was a good reply, though.
Thanks!

I sent you a PM about a deal I found. Sweet, huh?
