no sound in ubuntu on macbook !

Hello
I'm new to linux and recently installed ubuntu on my macbook, although i installed it on the windows 7 part of my macbook. Everything seems to be working fine, although I can't seem to get any sound. I have been looking through forums and websites for the best part of two hours attempting to find some solution, but nothing seems to be working. If anyone knows what might be wrong, I'll be happy to try anything :)

What is the exact model of your MacBook? (You can find out by running "sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name" in a terminal).
Once you know the model you have, go to this page:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook
And look at the specific instructions for your MacBook model.
