Is there any way to line up the sound and mouth-movements in a movie once it's been encoded?

I've got a great quality movie but it's useless as the sound is a fraction of a second before the action!

I've got a fresh install of Avidemux.

Any ideas?

The easiest way to view it in sync is to use MPlayer, as the "+" and "-" keys can be used to advance or retard the sound with respect to the picture.

You can use avidemux to edit the video and bring it back into sync:-
