I have a recently dead G4 with a replaced hard-drive. 1.5GB of RAM, and the Radeon 9200 VGA.

I replaced the hard-drive with an 80GB model, from the stock 40GB. Everything on the device work's perfectly fine, except I have no way install an OS (ran out of disk's, and I'm broke ATM...) I've search the internet, including this site, and have turned up nothing so far.

What I would like to try is to install Xubuntu from a firewire harddrive I have here specifically for use with this laptop. Now I have read up on the actual use of such a drive for booting off of after installing the OS on the drive from OS X, but that is not what I wish to do. I just want to install onto the internal hard drive from the firewire drive, and am lost on how to do this.

Unless a firewire network, or just plain network install would be easier, I am a open to try anything with this. :)
