desktop effects fail to work (possible driver problems)

from the time i tried to use two screens in jaunty after when i try to use the desktop effects if wont let me and just says that they could not be enabled and it also doesn't let me use compiz and emerald.
i think this might be a driver problem but am not sure
if it helps im using a integrated Intel 945gm/gms gpu that has prevuesly worked with desktop effects and compiz in jaunty.

Try updating your drivers first...
You could try to remove compiz and reinstall maybe it would help!

i dont think its compiz because it is starting the normal effects (in appearances) and where do i get the drivers from ive tryed the hardware drivers program in system admin and that come up with none
