I know Mozilla makes a good application similar to Microsoft Outlook. It would be good for your Calendar request.

Thunderbird (http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/)

Lightning (You use this as an add on to thunderbird) (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/lightning/)

Hope that helps :)

I used evolution for a while, it works ~OK~ and is nicely integrated to the panel calendar. That is probably the closest thing to Outlook. But I did not really like it, so I have switched to a couple of things: First, I am using Thunderbird for an e-mail client with the Lightning add-on for calendering. I use these with my company e-mail and also to sync with google calendar. then I use Google gadgets to place a calendar on my desktop along with other things like weather, moonphase, etc. Hope that helps....
