Hello there,
We ordered a brand new Dell Latitude 2100. Since the first boot we have a terrible 640x480 screen resultion. Because of this, it was not even possible to finish the installation wizards at first because 50% of all dialog-boxes were cut off. We figured out to "tab" us below the screen and work "in the blind" until our ubuntu-desktop has started.
But also within ubuntu desktop it is not possible to set the screen resolution to the maximum the hardware can provide - therefore everything looks very odd.
Even an external Monitor (from Dell too) cannot get a high resolution signal - only 700x400 or something like that. None of the available screen-resolutions to choose is higher than this one.
As you can imagine this is not very satisfying. Escalating our Trouble-ticket at dell they told us that these forum will support us.
If this is on ALL Latitude 2100 this is strictly a no go for buyers, take care. But perhaps this is only on our system - we hope to get a solution soon. Otherwhise I have to send it back to Dell because it is not usable.
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Martin
