I downloaded the tar from the website and extracted it. I downloaded the tar file and extracted it, but I don't know which file runs the progam. I thought this was supposed to be a EASY thing to do. I did try double clicking the "Easy Ubuntu" file (the icon looks like a desktop) and it asked for my root password. I gave it my password and it gave me this error:"Failed to run./easyubuntu.py:Wrong password".

What am I doing wrong?

I appreciate the help!

I am getting the same problem.
I enter the password I use for my Root Terminal -- but that doesn't work.

I had the same problem, except it took my root password fine, then asked me to set a default keyring password - can anyone help us with this?

Are you running the python version (http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org) or the older bash version (2.4) from French site?

edit: You are running the python version. Right now, you need to launch it with a

gksudo ./easyubuntu.py

The next task on my list is to make it installable through a deb file.

I'm having a similar issue [or..the same issue].

After reading robotgeeks' post,it seems I'm using the BASH version [downloaded from the french site as freecontrib.org keeps giving me empty tars]
I get:
"Failed to run ./eu:
Wrong password."
In both the E.U. password prompt and the terminal.
How can I fix this?

[Edit]
Got it working..
