Im making a leap here but last night I installed the new kernel on my laptop. It has an intel graphics card. It loaded up the the point of where my UN/PW would be entered and just gave me a blank screen.. This is the SAME pattern I had when I updated my old 2.6.28 kernel (jaunty regular) to the newest xorg intel driver. The way i've been avoiding it is just to not install it, and everything is fine...

Now my question is, is there a way to get into that new kernell install and use an older driver? I currently don't play any kind of 3d games to speak of so I don't care about that functioning correctly.

Also, please don't tell me to stop trying ot use 2.6.31, thats not my question :-) I tried to hit that CTRL ALT f2 to get to a command prompt, it didn't work.. just learned about that trick figured I'd give it a try.

Thanks for the help!
