I was just curious what was behind the forum's coffee theme. I see the beans, Cups of Ubuntu, etc and I'm lost as to where it came from. Just wondering, this thread can be closed if the question is answered, I didn't want to bug an admin.

About a year-ish or so ago, we were playing around with the ideas for new ranking icons... and the coffee theme was born...

this is the third version or so of that theme, currently. :)

just a little bit of whimsy and a fun take on the ubuntu-default brown color. :)

The fact that ubuntu sounds like a kind of coffee HAD to have something to do with it :P

Actually... no. I didn't think it sounded like a type of coffee... but then again, I'm a total coffee fiend (most of the coffees I know and/or like are named for a location/roast style... heh.)

Sumatra? Sulawesi Kalosi? Sure. Good stuff. Ubuntu? Uhhh.... let me grab a map of Africa here....

Maybe it really doesent sound like a coffee, maybe its subconcious or something... I see a coffee theme on an ubuntu site and think ubuntu sounds like a coffee o_O

"Hello, how may I help you?"
"Yes, id like an ubuntu please"
"That'll be 1.25$"

That just sounds right... Dont know why =P

(p.s. an ubuntu costs $4.50 a cup for the 'Tall' size, sha!)
