Just installed 9.04 and my fonts all over the place look like they're falling apart

I'm running an older P3 Pentium board that worked fine in 8. I have an older ATI PCI video card and a new Asus LCD.

The picture looks good except for the weirdness with fonts. They look really good but in some places like in Firefox, the Update Manager and elsewhere they look like they're smudged or dissolving.

Any thoughts as to how I can fix this?

Try different resolutions, my fonts went all blurry before i installed my 9600GT because it was the wrong resolution for my widescreen monitor.

ATI card is killing me.

Well I wiped it and installed an old Nvidia card.

2 funny.

No dissolving letters now.

So much for ATI eh? :guitar:
