My wireless connects fine, but the connection will be constantly disrupted when my wifi card just stops working, with the wifi light blinking on the side of my computer. I have a dual boot with vista and this doesn't happen in the same location. My wifi card is a Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan], as listed in lspci.
Any help would be appreciated.

You did not mention what Ubuntu you were using. I have a 1510 with the same 3945 card and I'm having no difficulties using it in a variety of locations on a daily basis.
I'm currently running 9.04. I had to get backported drivers and install Wicd to get the card working on 8.04. The 8.10 LiveCD ran the card from the first boot. I believe, but can not prove, that 9.04 wireless is some faster and more robust than 8.10. I also like the fact that 9.04 boots a lot faster.
The only issues I run into with wireless on either my Vostro 1510 or my Latitude D610 (also running 9.04) is making the initial connections at Starbucks. Just Starbucks, no other coffee shops.

Oh sorry I'm running jaunty 32-bit. This might not be a dell specific problem. I might be better off asking in a more general place.
