inspiron 1525 low volume

hi . ..
i just installed ubuntu 9.04 in my inspiron 1525 lappy . . . . .
i ve updated all my components and its working fine except the audio driver . . . .
SIGMATEL is the vector . . .. .

i can hear very low volume say 10% compared to the volume in vista . . . . . .. .

ive unmuted and kept max system volume . . .

still its not working . .. .

can any1 help me out ?????

In your terminal run the command alsamixer and check if everything is on 100% there, if not you can increase/decrease the volume with arrow up and down. Press escape to save.
