View Full Version : [ubuntu] Connecting using Micromax USB Edge Modem

I am a real newbie and have just switched to Ubuntu from Windows Vista. I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and have become its instant fan. There are, however, some issues in adaptation. The greatest is listed as below:

I had been using Mircomax USB Edge Modem for dial-up internet connection on Vista. Unfortunately, the same doesn't seem to work that easily in Ubuntu. I have been looking around (and googling) for solutions with little success. I do see that Ubuntu detects plugging my USB Device, but don't know how to proceed from here. The credentials that I use for the connection are as follows:

Dial-up Number: *99#
Username: [blank]
Password: [blank]

Nothing more.

It really make me happy to get online on Ubuntu using my favourite Firefox Browser, since booting into Vista just for accessing the internet is quite troublesome. I know there is a way, I just seek a guide.
