Hei iam about to try out cedega, just bought it a few months ago. And are about to buy a new machine.
I have a few question
1. what grapic card is most suitabel for linux drivers nvidia or ati (x1900 or nvidia 7800)
2. will battlefield 2 run perfectly on linux with this graphic card together with cedega and ubuntu ?

1. nVidia has better linux drivers, definitely! I have ATI card, and it is realy pain in the behind. ;) But with Ubuntu, I think there's no difference when it comes to video drivers if you have working internet connection and enough skills to use Synaptic :). As I have seen at my friends', it seems that nVidia cards are a bit better in overall performance (for gaming, that is). Best thing is to buy card from some brand name manufacturer (preferably MSI or Gigabyte) for the sake of stability.
2. I am not quallyfied enough to answer this question properly ;)

Getting the Nvidia 7800 will make your life alot ezier. Some my disagree but stay away from ATI and BF2.
As for running 'perfectly' ....?.... I don't think so..Cedega does a good job, but you will not get the same results as you would running it in Microsoft.
Also read transgaming forums and post there you may get beter answers

Heck Battlefield 2 doesn't run perfectly in Windows!
Many inexplicable CTD (crash to desktop) for many people.

1. Nvidia, definitely
2. No, you will not be able to play on any servers with Punkbuster enabled and you will have to use low settings, maybe get up to medium.

That's not strictly true - you can get lucky, although it's a luck of the draw kind of question. I had it running fine just 2 days ago....
Also:
BF2 does not run with ATI graphic cards under cedega.
