Cant get my MP3 files to play in Amorak

Can anyone tell me how to get MP3 files playing in Ubuntu using Amarok?

try

sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg
then open amarok

( if it was already installed then go into home folder -> .xine and delete the file named catalog.cache
.xine is a hidden folder
