Using 56k dial up connection at my friends house , if using ubuntu , will it have a chance getting infected with adware dialer ?
If he installed some application which is not from synaptic will it get infected with adware dialer or infinite of unwanted advertisement ?
Thank you very much.

It won't get infected for no reason. If he installs a malware, of course it could do all those nasty things. Thus, always do some research before you install dodgy software.

The chances of being infected with adware dialer are extremely slim.

The possibility is always there, need to always be careful what binaries you run.

You can run most older windows malware in wine if you want to. Modern programs (e.g. clampi) bypass the win32 api and pet so they won't function correctly.
You can always run a full windows environment in an HVM domu which should allow virtually all malware to operate normally.

If you're that worried about browsing, I guess the simplest for you is to install noscript-plugin for firefox.
But again, I'll have to agree with ikt, you getting infected is highly unlikely. If you want someone to tell you that's impossible, I don't think you will find that answer here.
