Most common similar feature between windows and mac are that they suck, not trying to flame bait, just stating fact. I would rather run windows than mac, much as i prefer slackware to ubuntu.

windows is simple, but with errors. Mac is for the simple minded. So please, Think different, use Anything but windows or mac.

This is flame bait for sure..
Nothing informative and not responding to @OP's question.

Office : Ms Office : : OpenOffice

Apple offers something called iWork. I personally think MS Office is currently the best office suite there is.

lol - have reported post - not support - asked for it to be moved.

to the OP - if you want to see what others say about the different OSes check out reoccurring discussions.

Ain't married to any of them.

Generally, it's just so easy to do "whatever" with a late model (intel) Mac. That is a feature that Mac has over its opposition.

Installing an Apple accessory is with very few exceptions a piece of cake.

For people that aren't tech' heads, a Mac running OS X, is the easiest possible computing solution. It may initially cost them a little more (depending on where in the world they live) but they will save in frustration & downtime (especially when compared to windows/security or learning a Linux distro).

Because their machine isn't vulnerable to viruses they will most likely save money in the long run, not having to buy security enhancing software & updates, or having to pay the man to reinstall everything because the system has been trashed by some form of mal-ware.

For people that are tech' heads, Linux/BSD is great, providing you can find the essential software solutions that you need.

Accounting software, legal software, CAD software, musical notation/sequencing software... There are quite a few areas that use specialised software that will not run on Linux, & there is no equivalent for them at this time, unfortunately.

I know, people can say you can do that with such & such a package, but you need to be a nerd, & you most likely still won't find the equivalent set of features available in the Linux option.

That's not to say that there aren't lots of great class leading Linux packages.

It is the specialised professional software which is quite often an industry/university standard, that is the tough nut for Linux to crack. (Apart from games of course.)
