Double Click is gone

For some reason, the double click has been disabled on my netbook.
I can single click and select a folder or icon, but then I have to hit the enter key to open it.
As far as I know this started when I plugged in a USB keyboard to my netbook. I noticed this problem after that but I am not 100% positive it was caused by that.

Any ideas?

Bump...I really need some help here. Maybe I posted in the wrong section. Can someone at least guide me to where my questio could get some attention?

Did you purchase the computer with Ubuntu pre-installed?

What model netbook? What version of Ubuntu?

The model is an Asus 901. And replying to the previous poster. No it did not come pre-installed, but it worked perfectly until recently.
