The title's a lie.

I can burn single-layer DVDs. I can watch said single-layer DVDs. I cannot burn dual-layer DVDs. I cannot watch dual-layer DVDs. Including commercial DVDs.

I have a dual-layer burner. I'm running Jaunty. I never tried DVDs on Intrepid. I watched DVDs just fine on Windows.

I've followed every tutorial I can find, tried everything I can think of.

Whenever there's a dual-layer/commercial DVD in the drive, it's convinced there's nothing there. I'm told there's no media to mount, including when I attempt to check the region of the drive.

CDs work fine.

I'm completely at a loss. Help?

Commercial DVD's are usually encrypted. Do you have libdvdcss2 installed.
