I get the error
Could not start the x server(your graphical environment)due to some internal error. Please contact admin....

Please, post the output of lspci.. if u cannot boot, start from recovery mode..

lspci give alot of info, need to know what's relevant. I have tried recovery mode. no luck.

lspci list all pci devices.. what I need is your video card name.. ATI, NVidia.. Version etc.. in lspci you'll find the vga info.. The "start from recovery mode" that i said before, was only for reach the terminal..

Have you recently installed the proprietary ATI drivers in your system? What happen before the problem were raised? have you installed updates? Have u try to install some video drivers?
