I contacted System76 via email last Friday about this issue (my apologies if you just haven't gotten to my email yet) but am posting here to make sure my email wasn't lost somewhere.

My starling seems to be having a battery/charging problem. The netbook doesn't seem to be charging. There are no lights showing at all on the computer and it will not boot up. The outlet into which the power cord is plugged is known to be working.

I've tried plugging in the netbook without a battery but it still will not boot up. I was under the impression that the netbook would work on AC power without a (charged) battery. Can you confirm that?

Background: several times last week my son reported that the battery did not last very long (he takes it to school and it probably sees only 3-4 hours of use during the day.) I contacted system76 about getting a spare power cord but it seems that there is an underlying issue.

Any ideas? The netbook does not seem to be operational at all at the moment. I had to send my Macbook in with him this morning and am not happy about that!

Sorry, but there are always a lot of emails on Mondays (from over the weekend) and sometimes it takes most of the day to get through them all. However, I just replied to yours.
