hi,

I just had kubuntu 9.10 karmic installed (alpha5). The OS worked pretty well. Now when it came to virtualization, I have three problems:

1. vmware workstation 6.5 doesn't install. same thing with vmplayer latest. There is no error message in log. The GUI installer stuck in "configuring vmware... " sort of that.

2. I then switched to VirtualBox. I have some vmware images that I want to use. I imported the harddisk into virtualbox and that went well. However, when I boot that machine, I got a black screen.

3. I then did a brand new installation of window7 RC in VirtualBox. It installed well, but I can't get it to run full screen. the biggest screen I got is 1152x864 something, while I have a 1440x900 screeen. Installing the guest addons and the wined3d doesn't help.

seems there is a no solution for virtualization in Karmic kaola yet !

Thanks,
-motor

Yes, you are right... VMware Server will not install correctly with 9.10 Alpha 5 fully updated... lots of issues with 9.10 that will likely be fixed before Beta testing.

Have been on Karmic since A3 and use VBox.

No issues at all!
