Kinda like Folding@Home, but more GUI and less terminal, something that my computer can help contribute to whilist I sleep or something.

Sure, I could seed torrents, but what should I seed? Exactly, there's too many versions of linux to seed, so it would be wise just to give me a program that allows me to contribute to a greater good. If you can't name something, just name some torrents that never change due to an update in software or whatnot.

Turning your computer off and helping to not contribute to pollution?

I don't see what is wrong with folding@home.

But there are many other distributed computing projects. You might want to look into boinc http://boinc.berkeley.edu/. There a many projects there that you might be interested in :)

SETI@Home (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/)

Seriously though the suggestion to turn your computer off at night is probably the best one so far.

BOINC (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/) is a generic client which lets you connect with all sorts of worthwhile projects.
