This shouldn't be legal. Combined, Microsoft control over 92 percent of the market share!? XP, Vista, and Vista Service Pack 2 (or it's other name, Windows 7) are slow, unreliable, virus ridden, expensive, and clunky. And the alternative is fast, free (with no "trial period"), comes packaged with literally 1000's of dollars (when refering to their commercial counterparts) worth of software, comes with reliable, fast, free, and ENGLISH support (here!), and did I not metion it's FREE. Apple, I understand, you pay a premium, you get a quality product (yeah, yeah, maybe I'm biased, I own one and love it). But... Microsoft? What? I'm angered beyond words.
Okay. Here's my theory. All major world governments are somehow in kahootz with Microsoft. They're using it as a means to keep the poor, poor, and keep the rich (themselves), rich. All money eventually ends up in a Swiss bank acount where they keep it for when the world falls into global war, at which time they'll use it to finish their spaceship and terraform Mars. Then, after we've wiped ourselves out, they'll return and set up a peaceful utopia.

I hope you're not serious. And if you are: nice way of using a discussion about Linux marketshare as a preamble/cover to trotting out your wacky conspiracy theory. Is your hope that if we accept the first proposition, we'll somehow automatically (and uncritically) accept the second?

I'm pretty sure when someone uses the phrase "finish their spaceship and terraform Mars" and they are not named David Icke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke), they're being facetious.

The quality of Operating System is inverse to amount of users.
OS X Snow Leopard, Ubuntu Karmic, OS X Leopard, Ubuntu Jaunty, *BSD
Common people like to stay limited, in pain, paying, buying new hardware and scared.

OS/2 Warp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Os2_warp#The_.22Warp.22_years) is my favorite OS too! Glad you agree.

Exactly! Only sane explanation, The Swiss! Don't get me started on the Large Hadron Collider.

If only that were true. I ran into a childhood friend not too long ago and he told me, in all earnestness, all about "Planet X" and the conspiracy to terraform Mars and all the rest of it. Also, being somewhat involved in the skeptic "movement", I have a greater awareness than I'd like about how just how many people adhere to all sorts of crazy conspiracy theories. Why, just the other day, I saw a video of one of my (former?) favorite musicians, Prince, talking about how "chemtrails" were responsible for the domestic violence in his neighbourhood.

People think my family is part of the Illuminati, helped fund Hitler's rise to power, and profited off the Holocaust. There's even a blog devoted to "exposing" our evil ways. Funny thing, though... I've yet to receive my check. I must inquire about that...

Haha, perfect timing with the Davide Icke reference. LIZARD PPLZ in Microsoft!!
To be honest, when Ballmer dies from a massive stroke caused by freaking the heck out, I'm sure we'll have a better view of the company and there may be some more conscientious decision making going on. As far as monopolies go, the whole Microsoft deal won't last for long. I see a lot of POSIX-compatible systems competing the near future.
But it's pretty obvious there's SOMEONE planning to recolonize Earth after having us all kill each other. I mean, the only question is when they estimate it'll all go down. @_@ Microsoft is fairly poor with planning pretty much everything except the first Windows release, so I think it's fair to assume they're not in on the plot. :lolflag:

Its just business.
I know somebody who wanted to setup a country wide network with the backend on Linux.
This guy is in the Govt. IPS officer.
He was offered 2 crores by Microsoft to scrap his Linux plans and go with MS instead.
Like I said its just business.
Windows Sucks because it was created by unfair means.
Or just lets say more business as usual.
Ubuntu sucks because it just doesnt work yet.
Every time we have a Linux OS that starts to work and is stable we have a new version or a new bunch of guys touting a particular falvour.
It should have just stayed at slackware that **** worked.
At least back in the day.

Ah, now I see. My sympathies for all the calumny these nut-jobs have sent your way. The blog you mentioned is almost comic in its tendentiousness, but I find the intent behind it is anything but humorous, and I imagine even less-so for you.

Oh, I find it quite funny. I'm a nazi-loving megalomaniac! All of those things that people who disagree with me on the internet have been saying all this time are true. :)
