I still can't get my sony vaio motioneye webcam working in ubuntu. I am using version 9.04. All the threads on this are old and I can't reply to them. I tried all the solutions in the threads about it, and nothing seems to work. Did 9.04 fix this problem for everyone but me? Please help.

TIA,

Gary

I am new to linux, currently running karmic, on an older sony vaio vgn-fj290. I also can't get my camera to work and the only info I've found is that some have a ricoh camera and that this is determined by typing "lsusb" in the terminal, however it returns the following:
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 1058:1100 Western Digital Technologies, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0ac8:c002 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC1
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Does anyone have any info on the driver for the Z-Star camera?
