Hi,
Until today my Evolution program always asked for a password when opened.
It has ceased doing this, and the Send/Receive button is now "greyed out"!
Can anyone suggest the reason?
Does Evolution automatically look for new mail at regular intervals, or is it just when opened and then relies on manual Receive selection?

Check you are not offline. File > Work online or click on the plug in the bottom left hand corner.

Evolution will check for new mail when open.I keep it open in a separate workspace. You can change the interval that it uses between checks.

God Luck

Thanks folks.
I eventually found it was Offline - I found the selection box under Files menu.

I couldn't find the option to select the period between Receives though.
I looked under Preferences - the only time reference I saw was that for when to Mark the messages as read.

Edit > Preferences > Mail Accounts > Select Account > Edit > Receiving Options

Mine is set to 10 minutes.

Good Luck
