how to disable auto start of drives and usb?

every time I put a dvd/cd on after mounting ubuntu would show its folder. How do I disable it?

Open up nautilus (places>computer) and go to "edit" then "preferences" select the media tab and untick "browse media when inserted"

now i never thought it was there.. I was thought it was somewhere in the system preferences.
