Hollo,
I am using XUbuntu 9.04. I download themes for this windows manager XFW... But exits other than: metacity, gtk 1 or 2... And when I download a theme xfw... only appear int Windows Manager... but not in apparence... What is the difference between both apparence windows config? what I need to download to modify the appearence of my xfce?
thanks!

it's quite simple: xfwm4 is the window-decorator/manager. so thats the bar that includes the buttons hide, maximize and close on top of every window. if you install a theme for xfwm4 you can change the looks of that bar.

if you install a gtk-theme, this changes the rest of the window and even the looks of the panel.

since you can use different window-decorators/managers there's no unified place for changing both window-manager theme and gtk theme (at least that's one possible explanation).

Thanks!!!

XFWM4 is similar than Metacity for Gnome, if I change this theme I change the format of windows and buttons; but if change the GTK Theme I change the colors of panels and windows etc.
GTK is for both, Gnome and XFCE and each of them have XFWM4 and Metacity for the rest?
