I upgraded to shiretoko/ firefox 3.5
it seems slower than when I used it in Windows.
I downloaded the chrome unstable for linux and it is blazingly fast. But I can't seem to get flash to work on it.
I didn't like opera at all.
I was wondering for those more experience what their experiences were and if they had any suggestions. I really like Chrome and always have but miss the adblock, autopager and ability to play flash.
Thanks!

Like you have discovered, they all have their advantages and disadvantages.
I think flash should work pretty well with Chrome though from what Ive read. All browsers should work with 32-bit flash, its the 64-bit flash that has problems it seems.
I havent tried Chrome myself so someone else will have to give you some help on how to get flash to work.

That's weird, because Firefox 3.5 is really fast. Firefox 3.6a1 is almost as fast as Chromium. Take a look at my benchmarks and tips to improve Firefox performance in the Firefox optimization and troubleshooting thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1193567).

Hasn't firefox again and again been proven to be faster through Wine than using the native Linux version?

I use FF, although I have to say my love for it has grown smaller in recent months.
btw: doesnt Google chrome have adblock as an addon? Or is it just on windows

+1
xmarks and adblocking plugins are the only reason I haven't jumped ship yet for my default browser

I dont think even the windows version has plugins yet, and therefore, no good ad blocking. I have to wonder though, if Google is going to try and make this hard. think about it, where does 99% of Google's revenue come from ? Ads. What will happen to that if everyone runs adblocking plugins?

I agree. I like Opera 10 a lot though the FF adblock addon is much easier to handle. Its the only reason Im not 100% Opera (yet)...

Google Chrome hasn't officially been released. I would wait for the official release, otherwise, Chrome is the best browser (ever made, and on all platforms). It really is hard to wait for the official release. But, after Chrome, is firefox. I like firefox, as my second favorite.

I didn't want to bother with adblock on Opera, and I didn't find it much faster to use than firefox.
Will Chromium work as stable as Chrome? Thanks for the post for the extensions and all your comments.
Maybe I'll add a poll or something. It'd be cool to see some numbers. And I've never heard of epiphany?

If a browser doesn't have an adblock program, then just do it through /etc/hosts
I'm rather partial to Conkeror and Midori.

Been using Chromium a while now, is the fastest most responsive browser. Its very stable too. They do got an adblock, limited right now tho called adsweep. As for xmarks i think there is a beta version invite right now.

I'm personally for Midori,
Blazing speed, pretty low overhead.
Newest version that is, the Ubuntu repository version is hopelessly outdated and crashes constantly.

That doesn't get all of them by any means. Adblock Plus in conjunction with the Adblock element hider is bar far the best solution available right now, IMHO.

It completely depends on where you get your hosts file from. I know that I don't see ads anymore.

What's the easiest way to do this in chrome?
I liked adblock plus' ease of functionality.

I might go over to Chrome when it comes out of Beta, just because i love the design and how big your window is. But i'll miss all the firefox add-ons.. i guess they'll come over eventually.
Anyway at the moment I'm using swiftfox..

I'm trying Midori out right now, actually. I like the archive version, except for all the crashing (and oh, my does it crash a lot). I'm itching to ditch FF because everything I liked about the tab bar has been done away with in 3.5.
