intel 5300 agn

hello i am new :o. anyway i just have 1 question to ask and hopefully 1 answer. 1. does ubuntu support 5 ghz/2.4 ghz cards? not quite sure because my system is packing an intel 5300 agn card and currently i am only able to connect to my 2.4 ghz side of my wrt600n. the 5 ghz side is not being picked up because it is not showing up.

2 gb ram
200 gb hd
