View Full Version : [ubuntu] Trying to get wireless working on a D610 but I have no wired connection

So since there's no wired connection to be had -we're ghettoing in on an unprotected network*; nobody's doing any banking or entering social security numbers, our router has lost the ability to connect to the internet and we need an interim solution- I'm not entirely sure how to fix this.

This D610 has a fresh install of Jaunty but I'm not sure how to get ndiswrapper and the drivers on to her computer. I have an iPod I'm using as a storage drive so I can easily transfer files, but I'm not sure what to do.

My Windows training says, "Copy the .exes over!" I'm sure there's an equally simple Ubuntu way. So, what is it?

*If you have an unprotected wireless network named 'linksys' you deserve whatever happens.

EDIT: Forgot to explain, I'm trying to do this: http://www.bauer-power.net/2009/05/ubuntu-904-wireless-on-dell-latitude.html
