Hi, this has been a "problem" for me for awhile now, but it's so minor I hadn't taken the time until now to figure out how to fix it. So with the latest Ubuntu release (9.04) I started noticing that on my laptop it would take something like 30 seconds after bootup to start detecting the wireless in my apartment. In previous releases it seemed to do it basically as soon as it finished booting up. Have other people experienced this and is there a way for me to shorten the time it takes to start detecting the wireless? Anyone happen to know why this is the case with 9.04 anyway?

Thanks!

same problem here. my solution: Sudo apt-get install WICD
way better than gnome network manager, and connects fast
