I think i would like to be a jellyfish.
No brain, no lungs, no spine, no heart, no brain all you have to do all day is float around, and even then you just go with the flow and go where ever the ocean decides.
Or a monkey, swinging from tree to tree. :D

I'd rather remain a human.

Because if I was an animal with human consciousness, I wouldn't enjoy it for long; if I was an animal without human consciousness, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it all.

chriskin

Because if I was an animal with human consciousness, I wouldn't enjoy it for long

why is that?

most animals that don't suffer from animal cruelty caused by humans, seem like they are enjoying their lives, if they could understand as well, it would be even better, wouldn't it?

Of course I'd be an Ibex, or maybe a Koala in my spare time. I'd constantly be going over to the Jackalope's nest and nicking his food though, as most of it is better than my (as the Ibex) food. But I have to be wary though as some of the Jackalope's food is poisonous for Ibexes, and would give me a bad stomach. But sometimes I'd warp through interdimensional space-time and become a Koala for a bit. Thing is the Koala would be very ill all the time and is sometimes sick and needs a bit of a rest.

I would have to go with either a wolf or an eagle. To me, they both represent freedom. They are pretty much free to do what they want, when they want. All they have to worry about the next meal, and they are both good at getting that.

wolves are part of teams. they are not free
if they choose something else, they die

a Lynx is free. And a beautiful and Very proud creature as well.

by the way, wolves are weaker than dogs, it's the fact that they are many that makes them so strong

that applies to humans, as well (though, the penalty for shooting a human is greater and therefore, more prohibitive). compared to being a turkey in november, i'd feel relatively safe as a bear.

maybe a bear instead come to think of it. i personally think we humans could learn a lot from bears. like as example how to hibernate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernation

i spend all day trying to learn it and it seems i could use a few days more worth of practise but i am sure giving enough time i can learn it :)

I don't know about being a koala, I'd probably get bord by the diet.
Being an eagle has a certain appeal: being able to soar above bad weather sounds nice.

The appeal of forbidden fruit?

Water bears can go into suspended animation for years until conditions improve.

1,000 times more radiation than a human
And one was revived 120 years later!

I actually would not want to be a penguin. Maybe on species exchange day, but otherwise I'd choose something else. My chooses would differ if I had a human conscious or not. I'd prefer I did.
If I have human conscious I'd choose a house dog. House dog + human brain = awesome. I could do anything a human can: eat cheeseburgers, watch TV, sit around and do nothing all day, and I don't have to pay taxes or go to work. After a house dog I'd choose a wolf. Here I would actually have to do stuff but I'm sure life in the wild is fun.
If I don't have a human brain I guess I'd be a dolphin. Just casue...
