After a lot of try-and-error, i got Jack working smoothly, and learned how to connect different parts , and now i though about opening Rosegarden and giving it a try. Some issues arise...
I can only open Rosegarden from the terminal, with 'sudo rosegarden', i guess this means my normal profile does not have access to it. I guess this is fairly easy to resolve.
I read that to run Rosegarden, QSynth must be running too, and there i am far more stuck. Whenever i want to load a soundfont into QSynth, it crashes on the restart it has to do. Even when i do not change a thing in the settings, the restart button will cause QSynth to crash, giving me the apocalyptic notification 'destroying midi player'. Afterwards, only a forced quit will help.
does anyone know how to deal with this? It would be super sweet to finally be able to record some music, instead of being converted in a programming specialist (which i don't mind, but it is not really my goal).
Thanks!
