View Full Version : [ubuntu] Connecting to Windows share over a VPN, ubuntu locks up?

I am running 9.04. I have a PPTP VPN connection setup for my schools network. The VPN is set up correctly, but whenever I try to map to my network share at the school, trying to traverse the share causes ubuntu to hang.

This is my procedure for connecting to the share:

Places -> Connect to Server -> Windows Share -> enter Server, Share, Folder, Username, Domain name -> Connect

The drive maps just fine and I can see the top level files and directories. However, the minute I double click a folder, try to copy a local file to it, try to open a file from it, etc, the window hangs and I have to log out to fully stop the process (though I haven't tried killing the process from the command line...)

If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it.
