Just done a fresh install of Vbox on a fresh install of Jaunty x64 - I now have a curious issue with the guest OS - in this case XP.
It has taken 3 attempts to get XP to install - each time Vbox would crash out during a different place of the install process.
I got XP home running and then installed guest additions - I then applied SP2 as the software I need to virtualise requires it.
After the SP2 install which seemed normal I get the following problem:
The welcome screen with my User displayed (I set XP to auto-login) if I click the user profile XP does nothing other than briefly display the loading personal profile message. (see attached) Before returning to the profile log in.
I'm sure this is a Virtualbox issue as I've had VMs running on this machine before - and I've never had this issue with XP running native.
Specs:
Ubuntu x64 Jaunty
Virtualbox 3.0.4 (NOT OSE)
Any ideas anyone?
