conquer online problem

first:i know about the thread which has solved this problem

second:i did what the thread say

the problem : when i open the game a message shows up and tell me to open dxdiag

when i open it i see that all dlls are fine no problem at all and i tested direct 3d and direct draw and it`s fine

now what to do to make it work

note:i reinstalled direct x nearly 5 times until now and my graphic card is the latest version and in use

Reinstalling DirectX will not work.
Some games just may not work in wine at all. If you want it to work, make a wiki article in www.winehq.org in the application section.

This thread should be in the wine sub-forum and is also a duplicate.

CO in Wine is not playable, IMO. Tried it a few weeks ago, characters disappear and appear out of nowhere. Major problems with menu alignment. Some other graphics glitches and so on...

Sorry then. I have no idea why Wine complains about Directx, all I had to do was to edit Wines registry, add some fonts and that's it.

I forgot about DLLs... Just follow this guide and you should be good to go.

Um, just follow the guide I gave you. It is pretty easy to follow, I can't explain better than that.

Download required fonts, put them in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts, run regedit (it's in ~/.wine/drive_c/windows) and add required keys as posted in that thread...

Run regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Fonts, click Edit > New > String Value enter fonts name. Repeat it with other fonts.

Wine which comes with Ubuntu should work.

Those settings allows you to change menu layout. You can safely ignore this step, but menus will be in wrong places. Of course you can try to tinker with it, but it won't be easy.

pristine install of conquer (from windows and never ran, blank game settings)

Look, I can't sit and read the forums whole day, be patient... I see that you have CO installed, did you put those DLLs like it said in that other thread? What's your graphic card? Do you have drivers installed for it?

yes my graphic card is nividea geforce fx 5500 i have the latest version installed for it

i put the dll s into system but i didnt see it in the liberaries (in the list there)so i typed the name for every one and i made them to native

I am lost here, sorry. Someone's having exactly the same problem (look at the link I posted below). This "bug" has been for a while now, look at the date, it's July 3rd 2009. I thought I tried to run CO a few weeks ago, but that must have been at least 2 months ago, lol.

oh man it just happening to me what can be done i did every this i even reinstalled ubuntu no thing happened and in wine forum they ranked conquer online as gold how could it be any one make it work only tell me how did he make it :frown:
