Hello,
I am a new user of the ubuntu and linux OS and also just got it installed. so please take it easy on me. My problem is that my resolution is not being displayed properly. I have looked in "System-Preferences-Display" which only gives me the following options
1280 x 1024(5:4)
1280 x 960 (4:3)
1152 x 864 (4:3)
1024 x 768 (4:3)
800 x 600 (4:3)
I guess i will give the specs of my system incase this helps.
Dell Studio XPS 16
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700(3MB Cache/2.53GHz)
4GB DDR3 SDRAM
Full HD widescreen RGBLED LCD(1920 x 1080)16:9
ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4670-1GB
BluRay Combo Drive
Intel 5300 Ultimate-N Half Mini Card
so as you can see i need a widescreen setting and it is not availible in the display options, My screen is currently being squished from top to bottom or streched from side to side. Also if someone could tell me why i cant change my visual effects to extra that would be great!
