Problems connecting Ipod to virtual box

I have installed virtualbox 3.04 PUEL and I wish to connect my iPod to iTunes.

Just a week ago I got the connect iPod to iTunes screen. I am able to get the iPod to connect under regular mode to virtual box but iTunes wants me to enter the iPod passcode into the iPod, which I can't because of the iPod errors.

The other 2 modes which might work are the recovery mode and DFU mode (DFU mode I know will work), both modes are greyed out under usb when I have the iPod in those modes under virtualbox.

Does anyone know how to fix it so i can connect in DFU and Recovery mode?

NVM, guys.

I figured it out, when I start up VirtualBox as root, Everything works fine.

Have you added your user to the vboxusers group?
