hi all-

i have a bunch of mp3s that have multiple id3 tag sections. for example, in a single mp3 file there is an id3 tag section without a genre and then another id3 tag section with a genre. i first noticed this when i imported all the mp3s into rhythmbox. it used the SECOND set of id3 tags. most applications use the first, so thats how i noticed it. i can also confirm that it exists using mediainfo and ghex2.

how can i remove a set of id3 tags?

is there a tag editor in linux that can list everything in the header(?) of an mp3?

can anyone recommend a good mp3 editor for this?

thanks!!!

Best tag editor I know is EasyTag for GNOME, KDE also has kid3.

Both install from repos, same as name of program for package. I love easytag, supports CDDB lookup for albums, as well as simply editing the tag entries manually. For the more odd tags, use kid3, displays all tags not just ones expected.
