copy and past game directory to wine?

my friend is having lots of problem with his windows because of viruses. he is an avid gamer so he asked me for help. i suggested he use linux then run his game using wine. so i was wondering if it is possible to just copy and paste the game directory to wine directory? the game in question is DARKRO (private server ragnarok). will it run?

I don't know about DARKRO, but ragnarok works with wine (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=701). I don't know if I would copy anything from a hard drive with a live virus on it. Do you know which files are infected? Could you remove the virus with a livecd maybe?

If the distro is minimal enough the OS could easly be loaded into the ram and wine could be used directly to test if the worked.
