I asked earlier about the possibility of using a Starling to "drive" a video projector that is ceiling-mounted in my classroom. It's about a 30 - 40 foot run from the terminal to the projector. The general consensus was that it should be able to do what I want it to. I wanted to make once last check to see if anyone had any new/additional thoughts. How well does the wireless work? I've heard some real horror stories about wireless and Ubuntu. Finally, is the Ubuntu that comes with the Starling a standard installation; the same that I have on my desktop machines? I've been hearing about a version of 9.10 that is being installed on some netbooks. I haven't followed the thread closely, so I can't give you the exact name of the version, but I'm hoping that this makes since enough for an answer.I'm also interested in what happens if it doesn't work.
How is System76 to work with when it comes to returns. In my case there would be nothing broken, it just wouldn't meet my requirements. If it can't deliver a usable signal to the projector, then I have no other use for a netbook.
It looks like a great product and is my first choice if I feel comfortable that it can move a video signal to my projector.
I appreciate any additional thoughts and information on return policies and procedures.
tnx
