I just finished upgrading from Kubuntu 8 to Ubuntu 9 w/gnome and so far I like the change. however I have a strange issue and I'm sure someone has a solution, I hope. I have dual monitors on my DELL Optiplex 755 with AMD/ATI Radeon HD Graphics card (one plug with pigtail for two monitors) My problem is simple, I have both monitors working properly but my background (desktop) image is spread across both screens. I have tried all of the various settings but I cant seem to get a single image on each monitor... Is there something I can do? One thing I haven't done yet (I'm scared) is to activate the ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver from the "hardware drivers" app. So before I do anything else can someone please chime in and give me some advice? Thanks...
