Hi all. I have a nice Mac Mini PPC 1.25Ghz with ubuntu server on. I use it just for few things like vsftpd and torrentflux.

I would like to use this old but still cool computer as a media center attached on my Sharp Aquos 37" LCD TV, I would like also to control it with a remote controller, I have an Apple Remote, but the Mac Mini PCC have no infrared so I have to use other way. I would like also to put in all my music or am I asking too much?

So my questions:

Could I use the Mac Mini PPC as a Media Center with Ubuntu?
Have the Mac Mini PPC any hardware limitation to use it with my LCD Sharp Aquos 37"?
Anyone know if there are limitation on internal hard disk size if I would like to change it?
Are there any economic remote control that works with Ubuntu? On my mac mini I have also the bluetooth
Is it possible to share the music with iTunes or using the Mac Mini as central store for the music?

PS: I have only 512MB on the Mac Mini :(

Cheers.

I have found this media center http://www.moovida.com that is disposable from the repository under the name "elisa". Seems good enough for me. I also just ordered a usb-irda on ebay at just 6€! Ok, I hope everything will be good.

I have to configure now Elisa/Moovida and when the usb-irda will come I hope to configure also the apple remote, cross the finger for me.

Anyone know the maximum capabilities of the Mac Mini PPC in terms of hard disk and ram?

I just installed the ubuntu-desktop and now the ethernet doesn't work anymore! I'm out of the world!!! :-|

Anyone know why? Without the desktop everything was fine

Experiment failed. Elisa/Moovida for the PPC is weird. :-|
The absence of the remote controller make the experience horrible...
