Apache or mysql slow.

Hi all,
I have installed apache+php+mysql on my ubuntu notebook and I noticed that after the first period, in which it was fast, it become slow.
It's not slow when loading a page, it's slow while waiting for response.

How can I detect if it's an apache or a mysql issue?

If you check the running processes in the System Monitor or using the top command on a command line, does either one seem to be using a lot of CPU when you're waiting for the page to load?
