Hello,
I was wondering why ubuntu users can not use the linux drivers provided by AMD http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx. I am a total newbie and decided to completely switch but I am having problems with my ATI radeon 9250 and I am tring to find the best way to get the card working without having to reload everything 100 times.
thanks

No no, do not use those with that card. They are very old and will probably not work. To use the open source ati driver instead, read this
