This is not a normal ZIF cable used in SSDs.

I pulled it out of an LG LGZ1 R200. I have ripped the cable by mistake trying to get to the fan.

Here are the pictures of the cable

I don't know how it works with LG, but for HP you can download a PDF with the part numbers for all the parts that can be serviced on your laptop, and this includes cables like yours.

This is a hard drive cable. My question is, do you have an IDE or a SATA hard drive?

Go here to replace it:

Shameless self-plug:
I've helpe you. Now, I invite you to take a look at my challenge. I don't know how to reformat a USB flash with read/write permissions:

It's a sata cable data/power cable. One end (black) is standard, but the other end seems to be a zif socket, probably LG specific. You'll have to talk with them, I highly doubt you'll get it in another place.

Good luck

Hello, to be a little more specific - that is an FPC cable. These are etched according to each manufacturer's specifications, and I don't believe there is a market for third party FPC cables.

If you can identify the part numbers it is possible to obtain replacements through overstock suppliers, but it is usually best to attempt replacement through the OEM instead.

Thanks aesis05401, There are a bunch on ebay but I am not sure if they are the same specs.

PatrickVogeli: Yeah, I have a SSD lying around and I just tested it out of curiosity and this cable is a little smaller.

hansdown: that link does not work.

felichas: thanks for the tip I will be searching for it.

Problem is the after service in Kuwait is next to nothing, so even if by some miracle they understand what I need they most likely wont have it. (By they I Mean LG in Kuwait).

If you can't see the Part Number on the ribbon:
EVANS HDD FPC RO. 2
EAX32388202
0736

Hey Finito,

Have you found this HD FPC cable for the LG Z1? If yes, could you help me with the source. I need one myself..

Thanks,
Asif

I found it in a repair shop, Luckily he had a broken machine, with the cable intact. You may wanna try that route. You may also check out alibaba, they might be able to make one for you.

Your best bet is to check the local repair shops.

You will notice how rare this laptop is, whats really annoying is LG has removed any type of support for this device from their website.
